The maximum recorded lifespan of a Herring gull is a mighty 49 years, which is the oldest recorded lifespan of any gull ever. Other banded European Herring gulls have lived until they're 35 or so. Black-headed gulls: 10 to 20 years. The oldest Black-headed gull was 32 years 3 months (measured in 2018).
